"Exploring the Bunkers"
A shot within one of the bunkers in the Marin Headlands. It was totally black inside and the only illumination was from the camera flash. There are several rooms off the main passage and it makes for a wonderfully scary adventure.

"Sunset over Hill 88"
Hill 88 is an old abandoned radar station above Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands. It makes for a wonderful hike. The graffiti, which is all over the several buildings on the site, is periodically painted over then slowly new art is painted.

A rubber duck and frog nestled together in an old bathtub on Mt. Tamalpais. I have three photos of the bathtub in this gallery which were all taken months apart. In each case the rubber toys had been placed in different positions by people's unknown.

"Pauline"
Who was Pauline? Who of us have not walked around an old graveyard and imagined just who were the people that now lie there. Pauline died at the young age of 38 at the outbreak of the first world war, but before the 1918 flu pandemic that killed millions. Pauline's tombstone lies in the old section of Fernwood Cemetery set up on an overgrown bank covered by trees.
After some research I came across the California Digital Newspaper Collection which is a website repository for all Californian newspapers from 1846 to the present, in which I found this article:
Mrs. Samuel Neale Passes Away
After two years intense and heroic suffering, Pauline, the beloved wife of Samuel Neale, foreman of the Northwestern Pacific shops at Sausalito, passed away on Thursday. Funeral services were held at her late residence on Caledonia street, on Friday afternoon and the remains laid away in Fernwood Cemetery beneath many handsome floral pieces the last tribute from her many friends. The pall bearers were Postmaster P. J. Elliott, James McAdams, George Grinsell, Charles Larson, Charles Folli and Clarence Ambjornson. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Franks and a sister of Mrs. George Gray, a native of San Francisco, aged 38 years. She was a woman of a charming disposition and very high character, greatly beloved by all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. Although an invalid for many months she was always solicitous for the welfare of others and took a motherly interest in every good movement.
